Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery

Shortly after the Louisiana purchase in 1803, Thomas Jefferson commissioned an expedition led by Lewis and Clark. The primary goal of this exploration was to map the newly acquired territory. Although we know that Lewis and Clark were accompandied by a Newfoundland named "Seaman," we think that an Irish Water Spaniel would have been equally suited to this epic journey.
